My name is Mrs. Walz and I would like to share a little bit of information about me!
I am a teacher, a wife, mother and grandmother. In September, my husband and I will have been married for 38 years. We live on near Nashville, Tennessee. I have 3 grown children, two son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law and eight grandchildren. My grandma name is Nana.
My husband, Don, and I love to travel to different places all over the United States. We have traveled as far East as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. To the South, we have traveled to Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. To the North, we have traveled to Michigan, Wisconsin and Canada! Finally, to the West, we have traveled to Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas, Illinois, Missouri and even to Kauai and Honolulu, Hawaii (note my word for hello at the beginning of introduction! Whew!! We have been so blessed to travel to over half of the states in America! Another favorite thing my husband and I especially love to do is visit our children. Tracy (our oldest) is married to Joel and they have three children. She is a Pharmacist Professor for Belmont University and he has established a non-profit organization for inner city kids. . They live in Nashville, Tennessee. Tiffany (my second child) lives in Nashville also and is married to Clay. They have started their own film business called Wet Paint Producations. My youngest child, Joe, is married to Kelsey and they live near Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a F-35 pilot for the United States Air Force. (Note: the picture of me is in an airplane simulator; however, I didn't fly it very well, so I don't expect them to give me a flying permit or anything! The only way I'll be flying is in a passenger seat of a big jet flying to Utah to see him)!
I taught for EVSC for 28 years. I am now retired. I have a K-6 elementary license, a reading minor, a middle school endorsement and a PE license. During my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of different grades. I have had the privilege of being a media specialist for 3 years during my teaching career. (This is where I truly developed a love of reading). I have also taught first, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades before I started teaching 3rd which I am currently teaching now. I have been teaching 3rd grade for approximately 12 years and absolutely love the children at this age. I received my Bachelors Degree from Purdue University and the University of Southern Indiana. I received my Masters Degree from Indiana Wesleyan. I also was the technology coordinator for Stringtown for over 20 years.
If I have any free time, I enjoy reading and riding my bike, but my REAL passion is photography. I love taking pictures, putting scriptures to them, matting and framing them myself. I especially love taking scenery pictures. Interesting tidbit about me: Recently, one of my pictures was featured in an art show sponsored by The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana.
Interesting Information About Me:
